lillipilli lane handmade clothing is designed to be fresh and unique, influenced and inspired by the Vintage and Retro periods with a modern edge. We also include Eco Organic handmade clothing made from up-cycled and organic certified fabrics. Our clothes are Easy-wear and include an adjustable elastic waist for all our different fits and to allow for kid’s growth spurts. Originality and creativity are key cornerstones of our handmade clothing range which includes:
- women’s clothing – including women’s skirts and dresses that work for busy mums
- girl’s wear and boy’s wear – including girl’s skirts and dresses and boy’s shorts that are Easy-wear and age appropriate
- Eco Organic clothing - including women’s skirts and children’s wear
Adjustable Elastic waist
Unique to lillipilli lane handmade clothing is the elastic waist. An additional length of elastic is overlapped inside the waistband of each skirt so that it may be extended (or shortened) as required. A small section of the waist-band is left open to allow the elastic to be pulled through and un-stitched and re-stitched at the required length, this can be done easily by hand. This allows clothing to be personally fitted for all our different ‘sizes’ and allows kids clothes to be adjusted as they grow. If this task seems to be beyond your sewing ability, an alterations sewer may do it for you.
Fabric
lillipilli lane uses mostly 100% cotton. We love the qualities of cotton, the bright colours, its crisp look, wear-ability, and long-lasting qualities and it looks good ironed or not. We also provide organic cotton handmade clothing. Some of our clothing such as some of the twirl skirts are made from a mix of materials to assist with the twirling qualities of these skirts.
Care
Our handmade clothing is made with care, however to protect it we recommend a gentle cold wash and line dry. Clothing may be placed in a laundry bag in the washing machine. Any irregularities that are found may be considered as individual characteristics of the unique handmade process.
Sizing
lillipilli lane children’s clothing sizes are based on age ranges. As size is very individual, please be guided by the waist measurements and remember the waist-bands are adjustable. Skirts / pants may sit at the hips or waist or in between. If it fits at the hips, it will be a little hipster and as the child grows, the skirt can be moved toward the waist, to help provide maximum wear and best fit.
