(1960’s and 70’s) periods, the beautiful natural environment, the vibrant range of fabrics and materials now available and from the kids themselves. Fabrics are selected for their individual characteristics and often inspire designs and often a design won’t be completed until the right material comes along. Originality and creative expression are key motivations for lillipilli lane and we acknowledge our inspirations and influences.
Why handmade, how our wares are made
Handmade is back in fashion and once forgotten or outdated handmade skills are being un-earthed and put back into practice — and it’s exciting! A friend once said “your clothes are unique and different to what’s in the shops” and that’s our goal to give you a little bit of the genuine joy that comes from owning a unique handmade item.
Handmade wares are made through handcrafting each piece individually with care to give a quality piece. 
Buying handmade supports local artists and crafters helping to build sustainable communities. Buying handmade will also help reduce the impacts of mass production upon the environment. Receiving a handmade item, bought directly or as a gift, will give a one of a kind item made with care by a local artist or crafter. Handmade wares have only one or just a few of each piece made. This is one of the appealing things of buying handmade, it’s exclusive and not mass produced.

Family life can be busy, hectic, challenging and so rewarding. Every little bit that can help with the smooth running of our families is valuable. lillipilli lane handmade clothing is designed with busy mums in mind and aims to be Easy-wear and Easy-care. Iron or don’t iron, with quality materials that will get a couple of seasons wear. We offer simple styles and patterns that appeal to kids and that are age-appropriate. They are also manageable for young kids, and to coin a lillipilli lane term ‘kids clothes for kids’. We aim to make a unique range of styles, colours and patterns that both kids and parents like.
Environment
